TEMMCO started in 1978 as Hunter Valley Constructions. This family owned company carried out subcontract work predominantly for the Electricity Commission of NSW. HVC's work expanded into a wider range, which included pumps, condensers, rotors and turbine valves etc. During the mid eighties EC of NSW was implementing a policy dealing with less contractors and requiring them to have the capabilities of carrying out both on and off site refurbishment of plant during planned shutdowns. To accommodate this need HVC established their workshop at Rutherford in 1985. With the widening interests undertaken by HVC several specialist companies were formed within the group.
In 1994 there was a downturn in Power Station work across the State and HVC ventured heavily into the Mining Industry to maintain a continuity of work for its machine shop and specialised Power Station workforces. The company again expanded in early 1995 when it added to the TEMMCO Group by the acquisition of a Polyurethane business, which is located at our Rutherford Head Office complex. Polymer Technology International Pty Limited is responsible for manufacturing polyurethane elastomer products for mining, processing and industrial applications. In 1997 our General Manager and founder decided that he would step down from the day to day running of the operation. At this time the HVE Group management team reviewed operations and decided to restructure by amalgamating the small companies into one large entity thereby streamlining administration, employee and customer relations and marketing ultimately resulting in a complete service undertaken by one company. The name adopted was "TEMMCO" Total Energy Mining Maintenance Company. Capabilities Website
